Research communication & communication skills
Research communication courses & communication skills training for scientists and researchers
If you’re ready to communicate better, you’re in the right place.
As a scientist or researcher, you communicate your work constantly: with fellow-scientists, with colleagues, with the media, and perhaps even with the public. The challenge is that you’re expected to be an exceptional communicator, but most academic programmes skip the “how to communicate effectively” course!
That’s where we come in. At Whitbys, we help you build the communication skills you need to “get research done”, share your science and research results with experts and non-experts alike, and succeed in your career.
Two types of communication training
To succeed in the world of science and research, you need to be able to communicate your research effectively. You also need to be able to work with other people on a day-to-day basis to get your work done. That’s why we offer two types of communication training for scientists and researchers.
Research communication training
Our science and research communication training courses are designed to help you share your research and results in person, online, in writing, and in the media.
Courses include Practical Presentation Skills for Scientists and Researchers, Poster Design & Presentation, Writing for Digital Audiences, Social Media for Scientists and Researchers, and Finding & Telling Science Stories.
Communication skills training
Our communication skills training programmes focus on your ability to communicate effectively with your colleagues or team, as well as the media and non-expert audiences.
These programmes include Effective Communication Skills, Emotional Intelligence, Cross-cultural Communication, Non-verbal Communication, and Networking skills.
Live online training as well as on-site training
We deliver our open courses live online using Zoom (or your organisation’s preferred tools), so you can join our training programmes from wherever you are in the world!
